Running STM32CubeMX on OSX

I don’t use STM32CubeMX for anything but the pin planner, and even then that’s a bit of a dog’s breakfast, but it’s faster than mucking around with the alternate pin mapping pages in the datasheets. The code that STM32Cube generates is garbage, IMO.

From Roger Clark’s github project:

You can run the installer .exe by explicitly running java with the -jar option:

$ sudo /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java -jar /Users/<<$HOME>>/Downloads/SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.9.0.exe

After it installs, you can run it with a similar command:

/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java -jar /Applications/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeMX/STM32CubeMX.exe

Roger suggests explicitly giving the path to the java executable because OSX tends to install old java versions.
